Studio Labyrinth

Our studio needed some love in the common space right outside our door. It is a shared space with six doors which usually remain closed. My assignment was to create a sense of value without spending any money. So Jelly and I spent five days painting an 800 year-old Chartres labyrinth – David Bowie was not involved whatsoever.

Jelly was the brain behind the measurements + outline, and the rest was lots of affection, patience, and basically a week of meditation on the floor with aching knees, elbows, and hips.

The very talented Chris Hornbecker was kind enough to pop on over and photograph it for us (last photo).

Thanks to our patient neighbors who humored us by hopping over strings & wet paint every day. You guys rule.

There are a few more process shots over at Flickr, and Jelly had a few comments of his own!

A beautiful tribute to what has come before.
